Job Summary

Responsible for the 24 hour management of a specific patient care unit/s, service/s, or program/s in settings as designated by the Chief Nursing Officer and/or Director, Patient Care Services.  The Nurse Manager directs and supervises the functions and activities of the assigned unit/service/program:  Develops, implements and interprets policies; schedules and supervises assigned employees and insures the quality of care provided to patients and families. Responsible for unit based budgetary management and human resource management.  Assignment to Nurse Manager I positions is made by the Chief Nursing Officer in collaboration with Human Resources based on the number of Headcount assigned. The Nurse Manager I has an assigned Headcount of 50 or less employees.  

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of employees that may include final budget authority, hire/termination/disciplinary authority, performance appraisal responsibility. Job will be considered a member of the management staff with direct reports..
Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree - BSN

Minimum Experience

3 years - RN experience including 2 years in appropriate area of nursing

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
RN - REGISTERED NURSE - NLRN
