<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">The Clinical Quality Improvement (QI) Professional is responsible for fulfilling the duties associated with quality performance improvement through the deployment of a collaborative, proactive approach to quality, safety and efficiency. The role serves as a resource for implementation of performance improvement processes and activities.  The Clinical Quality Improvement Professional supports local and system-wide improvement initiatives within a campus/site to ensure effective and timely quality improvement activities within a designated body of work, function, or specific clinical service line. The Clinical Quality Improvement Professional serves as a lead for campus / site-based teams using consistent standards, best practices and a portfolio of PI based tools to improve outcomes.  The position utilizes trended data and analyses to identify, design, plan and implement performance initiatives in quality, safety and service measures. The position is responsible and accountable for implementing the activities related to planning, organizing and managing activities and programs related to performance improvement. The position further supports the campus/site clinical and administrative leadership team, Subject Matter Experts (SME), stakeholder groups and ad hoc teams on performance improvement activities.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">The Clinical Quality Improvement Professional works in partnership with nursing, providers, and support area leaders and team members and is an active member in quality related committees focusing on improving care, efficiency, utilization and outcomes.  The position fosters the development of a data driven culture in the clinical and operational areas and ensures  the integrity of internal and external data.  The position supports bi-directional communication and education of all involved personnel pertaining to performance improvement activities/methodologies, implications/impact and required organizational changes. The role leverages  campus/market/system communication and committee forums to ensure mechanisms for reporting and information sharing.  

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree - healthcare or related health science discipline

Minimum Experience

1 year - related experience. Healthcare setting preferred

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
Specific Acceptable Credentials (if applicable)

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Certified Professional in Quality, Process Improvement, Patient Safety or like certification preferred.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Lean/Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) certification preferred

Other Required Experience

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Knowledge of clinical indicators and /or quality improvement methods and standards.  Must be able to lead and facilitate meetings and project teams independently.  Knowledge of practice methods and tools related to measuring and driving performance improvement are essential. Good oral presentation skills and the ability to clearly convey clinical and analytical information in public forums and across various audiences are required.  Organizational and planning skills to manage workflow of many projects at once and to prioritize efforts as required. - Required

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Demonstrated success working effectively in situations where need to use strong leadership skills to achieve the expected result. Excellent written, verbal and multi-media skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Strong project planning skills. Conflict management, negotiation, and change management skills. - Required

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Knowledgeable of quality improvement and patient safety concerns and tools with the ability to effectively facilitate and/or lead multidisciplinary teams. Excellent written, verbal and multi-media skills. Strong collaborative skills with demonstrated ability to work across departments and markets. - Required

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Working knowledge of PI-related tools and application of, such as the Model for Improvement and LEAN principles. - Preferred
