Job Summary

Directs the provision of Laboratory services to meet the needs of Prisma Health Laboratory customers in accordance with all regulatory standards and practices. Monitors the administrative, fiscal, and technical performance of Prisma Health-Upstate Laboratory activities including Laboratory Outreach. Works with the Medical Directors and managers to meet all Federal, State, and local laws affecting laboratory accreditation for all Prisma Health laboratories. Promotes standardization of laboratory processes across Prisma Health.  Works closely with Medical Director, Administration, Physicians, Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, and other support departments to continually assess and meet Prisma Health goals.  

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of employees that may include final budget authority, hire/termination/disciplinary authority, performance appraisal responsibility. Job will be considered a member of the management staff with direct reports..
Minimum Education

Master's Degree - Master's in Health/Hospital Science, Administration, or MBA or related field plus Bachelor Degree meeting certification requirements listed

Minimum Experience

8 years - Clinical laboratory setting with minimum of 5 years managerment experience in hospital/healthcare environment

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
LAB CERTIFICATION ASCP/AMT - ASCP
Specific Acceptable Credentials (if applicable)

Certification must be current for one of the following: MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP)cm, MT(AMT), BCLD or HDLC(ABB) (Lawson Code ASCP)

In lieu of the Above Minimum Requirements

Other education or certification reviewed by Medical Director and deemed to be equivalent may be considered.

Other Required Experience

Compile statistics, compose correspondence, coordinate events/meetings, enter data into computer programs, excellent human relations/inter-personal skills, excellent written communication skills, interview skills - Required
