Job Summary

The Director of Quality and Reliability oversees and coordinates the campus's comprehensive Clinical Quality and quality-related programs, working collaboratively with the campus executive leadership team. The Director provides oversight and ongoing performance monitoring and action planning on key standardized quality and safety metrics. The Director leads the efforts to develop and implement standardized plans, processes, structures, strategies and tools for planning and coordinating the daily operations of the Quality department. The position implements standard processes to help ensure continual compliance with regulations and standards set for by the Joint Commission and other accrediting bodies. The director supports a comprehensive program to improve patient outcomes and minimize patient harm through the implementation of processes and systems that support a consistent, standardized culture of quality and safety.

The Director oversees the standard work and day to day operations of the Quality team, influencing and facilitating the utilization of evidence based practices and aspects of ongoing performance improvement physicians, team members. The position ensures that communication venues and committee forums are in place to establish mechanisms for accountability, reporting and information sharing. The position adopts high reliability principles in a data driven culture to elevate clinical quality performance to best in class.

The scope of oversight includes, but is not limited to, the work products / functions of Quality Standards, Patient Safety, Clinical Performance Improvement, Infection Prevention, Accreditation and Regulatory Readiness, Risk Management and local Clinical Data Analytics / Abstraction / Reporting operations.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of employees that may include final budget authority, hire/termination/disciplinary authority, performance appraisal responsibility. Job will be considered a member of the management staff with direct reports..
Minimum Education

Master's Degree - Nursing or related field (e.g. Public Health; Health Administration; Business Administration)

Minimum Experience

3 years - Related experience such as PI methodology, Quality standards, Accreditation standards, Patient Safety and High Reliability principles and Data Analytics and Reporting; Healthcare setting experience preferred.

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
JOB RELATED LICENSURE - L010
Specific Acceptable Credentials (if applicable)

Nationally recognized quality related certification (i.e.: CPHQ, PMP, CJCP, CPPS) preferred.
