Job Summary

The Senior Regulatory Research Analyst is responsible for discovery, research, and financial analysis of legislative and regulatory changes impacting provider reimbursement for governmental programs proposed and enacted by Congress, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), South Carolina legislature and SC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).  The analyst will investigate reimbursement policy for all new and existing provider types including acute, LTACH, ASC, outpatient, clinics, FQHC, RHC, professional providers and birthing centers.  The position will be responsible for providing research and analysis for academic reimbursement including  academic medical centers and the associated direct and indirect graduate medical education.  The analyst will provide ongoing investigation and feedback on issues impacting special reimebursement such as disproportionate share, bad debt and capital.  The analyst will also participate in the ongoing analysis of the Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree - Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Accounting or a related field

Minimum Experience

10 years - Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement with an emphasis on  Governmental cost reporting in a hospital setting
